Our team was proud to complete a comprehensive restoration project at the University of Iowa’s Kinnick Stadium and Paul W. Brechler Press Box, helping preserve this iconic facility for generations of fans to come. The work centered on extensive masonry restoration, including over 16,000 square feet of repointing, nearly 4,900 square feet of interior brick cleaning, 705 individual brick replacements, and 3,700+ square feet of single wythe brick replacement, along with water table and relief angle upgrades, salvaged stone cap installation, and protective sealant and water repellent applications spanning thousands of linear and square feet to strengthen the building envelope against the elements. We also carried out a range of concrete repairs, from crack injection and vertical repair to demolition, placement, and step replacement, restoring both the structure’s integrity and its everyday functionality. Rounding out the project, our crews handled site improvements including new drainage systems, turf and gravel work, vegetation removal, handrail installation, and lighting updates, leaving the grounds around the stadium as polished as the building itself.
